Marshall

Last weekend we went to Marshall to visit my parents and see the wonderful Marshall parade! It was AJ's first parade and he loved it. He watched from Kevin's shoulders for almost an hour and clapped as the floats went by. He loved the horses and seeing Santa of course. Marshall has amazing Christmas lights all over town - it was beautiful! On Sunday we all walked down to see the old train station and AJ loved seeing the trains passing by. It was such a fun weekend!

More pics from the big 2!

Here are more pics from AJ's 2nd birthday that my Dad took. Also - we went to the doctor last week for AJ's two year appointment and he is doing great! He is right on track for everything! He weighs 27 pounds and is in the 40%, his length is 35 1/2 which puts him in the 78%. He is long and lean! Our next doctors appointment will be when he is 3! That is so exciting! What a big boy!

THE BIG 2nd BIRTHDAY!

AJs 2nd birthday was a huge success! The theme was Disney Cars and thanks to Granny and Papa - we had a cool Cars jump house! Then Kevin and I also got AJ a cars pinata, cake and decorations! My Mom also thought of this fun fishing game, where she sat behind a sheet and the kids fished for prizes. They loved it! They were all so wired from the candy and cake it was hilarious! Thanks to all of our wonderful family and friends who were there - I can't wait to show these pictures to AJ when he is a little older and he can see how much everyone loves him! I am also waiting to get some pictures from my Dad from the day - since he always takes all the best shots. Happy Birthday to our amazing AJ! You are growing up so fast! WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH! No matter how old you are, you will always be our sweet baby boy!

Thanksgiving 2008

We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving. On Thursday we went to Mimis and Pampaws and the spent the day with all of Kevin's family! Granny and Papa are in town between here and Marshall until January, so they were able to spend Thanksgiving with us as well. AJ is so spoiled when he is around his girl cousins. They all love to carry him around and take care of him! It so nice for me - I get to take a Mommy break. Mimi and Pampaw even had a hay ride for the kids. Friday we went back to their house and celebrated Louisiana style (that is where Kevin's grandfather lives) it is a tradition to have gumbo and Cajun food. Kevin and my Mom made the gumbo and it was awesome! Saturday and Sunday we just took it easy and relaxed - AJ was worn out from all the fun!

Heard Museum with the Cox's!

We went to the Heard Museum on Saturday with Dan, Martha and Morgan. We saw the Dinosaurs Alive exhibit and the Animals of the world exhibit. The guys seemed to love it - AJ did seem a little scared of the dinosaurs, but was fine as long as we kept walking. Morgan was totally content checking everything out from his stroller view. The boys of course loved riding on their Daddy's shoulders the most! We then went to Chuck E Cheese to eat and go crazy! Not only was AJ exhausted, but Mommy was overstimulated and pooped as well, but it was such a great day! Then to top off the day, Kevin, AJ and I went to see Madagascar 2 that evening. It was a fun filled day that we all needed after the move.

24 things that change when you have a baby!

I found this list on babycenter and it totally made me cry, so I thought I would share!

1. You finally stop to small the roses, because your baby is in your arms.

2. Where you once believed you were fearless, you now find yourself afraid.

3.The sacrifices you thought you made to have a child no longer seem like sacrifices.

4. You respect your parents and love them in a new way.

5. You find that your baby's pain feels much worse than your own.

6. You respect your body . . . finally

7. You believe once again in the things you believed in as a child.

8. You lose touch with people in your life whom you should have banished years ago.

9. Your heart breaks much more easily

10. You think of some else 234,836,178,976 times a day.

11. Every day is a surprise.

12.Bodily functions are no longer repulsive. In fact, they please you. (Hooray for poop!)

13. You look at your baby in the mirror instead of yourself.

14. You become a morning person.

15. Your love becomes limitless, a superhuman power.

16. You finally realize that true joy doesn't come from material wealth.

17. You'd rather buy a plastic tricycle than those shoes that you've been dying to have.

18. You realize that although sticky, lollipops have magical powers.

19. You don't mind going to bed at 9 p.m. on Friday night.

20. You discover an inner strength you never thought you had.

21. You no longer rely on a clock-your baby now sets your schedule.

22.You learn taking a shower is a luxury.

23. You take the time for one more hug and kiss even if it means you'll be late.

24. You find yourself wanting to make this world a better place.

House Warming Party

We had our house warming party on Sunday (our first party at our house) and we all had a great time! I unfortunately did not get as many pictures I had hoped, but if you go to Morgan's blog at http://www.morgancox.blogspot.com/, Martha got some fantastic pictures and video that she has posted! The kids had a blast in the bounce house provided by Jamie Chancelor at the Blair Group (our Realtor)! The house is slowly, but surely coming together - all we have left to do is the baby's room and our guest room. We are so happy to finally be in our new home and look forward to many celebrations there!

More pictures from "Papa!"

Here are a couple of great shots my Dad once again took. The one of AJ on the box is when we moved out of our apartment and we packed his first box of toys and then I LOVE the picture of my two guys on AJ's last day at his old school. Thanks "Papa" for always getting such great pictures!

Last weekend we finally got to spend some time with Jenna and Evers. Kevin was in Austin with my Dad for the UT game, so Jenna and Evers came over to see he house and then we went back to Jenna's for a bit a the boys played and had a great time together. AJ thinks Evers is hilarious and wants to do whatever he does. It was so funny!

Halloween 2008

This was AJ's 2nd Halloween and this year he was a skeleton! We went over to Jason and Haley's and went tricker treating with cousin Brooklyn. They were so cute together and Brooklyn kept saying "Come on AJ" and AJ would follow her up to the doors to get candy. He did get a little scared when he saw some other kids with strange masks on, but he was fine after the kids took the masks off and he saw who was under there. After we put AJ to bed and he had had some candy, Kevin and I fought over who got to eat what! Hehehehehehe
