Fullfillment

This is a quote from a book my Aunt gave me - Meditations for New Mothers - which I thought was worth sharing:

The fulfillment of motherhood is not a steady, blissful state. It is a responsibility-filled vocation permeated by an ineffable joy and love. Our hard work is rewarded with daily miracles as we witness the growth and development of a unique human being. Our frustrations are obliterated by gurgles and hugs, small gestures and toothless grins. Our babies don't make us a more complete person, but they do fill us with their presence and inspire us with their grand accomplishments: sucking on toes, rolling over, sitting up. They open us to love and help us to see the extraordinary in seemly mundane events.

Daddy and Baby in the pool

Crawling

AJ is trying to crawl! He is able to get up on all fours and can move or pull his body for awhile. Here he is at the zoo trying to scale this fake alligator. He is also able to go from laying, to all fours or sitting up all on his own! We went to our Mommy and me class yesterday and he is moving much more than any of the other babies in class. He is at the same level as the 8 month old babies in group - so needless to say Kevin and I are thrilled! We have a mover on our hands and think he will be crawling and walking before we know it. We are so excited for the next stage - watch out world - here comes AJ!

Grandpa and AJ at the Zoo

Grandpa was in LA this weekend and we all went to the zoo! It was AJ's first time at the zoo and he loved it! His favorite animals were the giraffes. Grandpa carried him around all day and we all had so much fun together. Thanks Grandpa!
